What customers say about you and the place next door

The Google Maps reviews API returns up to 20 Google reviews per call for any business, with star rating, review text, date, likes and the visit details reviewers add, like food, service and atmosphere scores. Each call also returns the place's review topics: the words Google groups reviews under, with how many reviews mention each one. One call costs €0.0015. Set your places up once and each run's reviews are saved in your Scrapewise account, ready for the table, Excel, your AI assistant or the API.

If you run a restaurant, clinic or shop, your Google reviews are the first thing new customers read. You already see your own in the Business Profile dashboard. What you don't get there is the same view of your competitors, or a way to count anything. How many reviews mention 'parking'? Does the cafe across the street get better service scores than you?

The topic counts answer the first question before you read a single review. In our sample, Cafe Maiasmokk in Tallinn has 185 reviews that mention marzipan and 144 that mention pastries. That's what people come for. For a restaurant owner, that list is the menu your customers would write. To find places to check, start with the Google Maps scraper API. For the full profile with popular times, use the Google Maps place API. If your team works in spreadsheets, see exporting Google Maps data to Excel. All sources and prices are on the all data APIs and prices page.

Who pulls Google reviews

  • Restaurant, cafe and hotel owners

Check what guests praise and what they complain about, for you and the 5 places nearest you. The food, service and atmosphere scores show where you lose stars.

  • Reputation management agencies

You manage reviews for 30 local clients. Pull their reviews on a schedule, spot the negative ones, and show each client how they compare with competitors in a monthly report.

  • Clinics, salons and service businesses

Reviews that mention wait time, price or a staff member's name tell you what to fix. The topic counts show which issue comes up most.

  • Multi-location brands

Run every branch through the same pull and compare. If one store's reviews keep mentioning 'rude' and the others don't, you know where to send the area manager.

How it works

  1. Pick the places

Paste the link to your place on Google Maps, then do the same for each competitor. Each call returns up to 20 reviews for €0.0015.

  2. Schedule it weekly

Every run is saved with its date, so new reviews stack up next to older ones for 90 days.

  3. Read reviews and topics

Sort by stars or search the text in the table or Excel, pull rows by API, or ask your AI assistant: 'what did 1 and 2 star reviews mention this week?'

Set it up once. The data keeps coming.

Save your search once and it runs by itself. Every run lands in your own Scrapewise database, and you pick how to read it.

  1. Set it up once

Add your ASINs, keywords, places or apps to a scraper in the web app. New accounts get 5 free requests.

  2. Runs on your schedule

Pick daily, weekly on the days you choose, every few days, or the first or last day of the month. Scheduled runs start at night, European time. Need it more often? Start runs from your own code.

  3. Saved in your database

Each run adds dated rows, so this week sits next to last week. Rows are kept for 90 days.

  4. Use it your way

Open the table in the web app and download the latest run as an Excel file. Ask your own AI assistant about it. Or pull the rows into your code with an API key.

Ask your AI assistant about your own data

Connect Claude Desktop or Claude Code with a read-only key. The assistant reads the rows you've already collected, at no extra cost on Scrapewise. With a full-access key it can start a run for you too.

  • Which of my ASINs lost the Buy Box this week?
  • Which competitor cut prices the most since Monday?
  • Show the keywords where I dropped out of the top 10.

What you send and what you get back

Paste the link to the place on Google Maps. Each review comes back as one row. Every row also carries the place's name, address, rating and review count, and its topic list with mention counts, so a single export has everything for a report.

You give
  • Link to the place on Google Mapsrequired

On entering the shop with its display cases filled with many delectable offerings we spotted a door to the cafe, so we decided to stop for a bite. The room, with its decorated glass ceiling and its selection of gateaux, pastries, chocolates, and other treats was enticing, so we took a table and ordered a slice of marzipan curd cake to share. Unfortunately, the cake did not live up to our expectations. The marzipan sheet topping slid off with the first cut, and the cake itself was a bit tough and chewy. Most of all, there was little distinct almond flavour. Although the shop has earned its reputation for over a century of quality marzipan production, today it didn’t live up to its high reviews.0https://placehold.co/400x300/jpg?text=Photohttps://placehold.co/400x300/jpg?text=Photo

The atmosphere is beautiful, with an elegant interior that reflects the café’s long history. The display of pastries and cakes is very inviting, and the menu offers a good selection of coffee, tea, soft drinks, sparkling wine, Prosecco, Aperol Spritz, and traditional Estonian pastries and desserts. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by the exceptionally slow service. The main issue does not appear to be the staff’s attitude—they were polite and clearly doing their best—but rather the way the café is organized. There was only one person working behind the cashier, and that same person was responsible for everything: taking orders, preparing coffees, pouring drinks, making Aperol Spritzes and Proseccos, serving pastries, and handling payments. As a result, the queue became extremely long, even though there were not that many customers inside the café. Ordering what should have been a simple coffee and pastry took far longer than expected. Every customer had to wait while the cashier completed the entire preparation process for the previous order before even taking the next one. This creates a bottleneck that could easily be solved by having one employee dedicated to taking orders and another preparing drinks and serving food, especially during busy periods. It is a pity because the products themselves are enjoyable. The coffee was good, the pastries were fresh and tasty, and the historic setting makes the café a place worth visiting. However, spending so much time waiting significantly reduces the overall enjoyment of the experience. I understand that staffing can be challenging, but a café with such a strong reputation and a steady flow of tourists deserves a more efficient service model. Even adding one additional staff member behind the counter during peak hours would likely make a huge difference and greatly improve the customer experience. I would happily return because of the quality of the pastries and the unique atmosphere, but I sincerely hope the management reviews the current service process. With faster and better-organized service, Café Maiasmokk Kohvik could provide an experience that truly matches its historic reputation.0https://placehold.co/400x300/jpg?text=Photohttps://placehold.co/400x300/jpg?text=Photo

Visiting it in Paris was an unforgettable experience. From the first moment you see it, the size, design, and elegance of the tower are absolutely impressive. It is not just a monument; it is a symbol of Paris, romance, history, and French beauty. The atmosphere around the Eiffel Tower is amazing, especially when you walk near the gardens and see the tower from different angles. It is a perfect place for taking photos, enjoying the view, and feeling the special energy of Paris. During the day, the tower looks powerful and elegant, and at night it becomes even more magical when the lights turn on and sparkle. Going up the Eiffel Tower is also a wonderful experience. The view from the top is breathtaking, and you can see many famous parts of Paris from above, including the River Seine, beautiful bridges, historical buildings, and the city skyline. It gives you a completely different feeling of Paris. Overall, the Eiffel Tower is a must-visit place for anyone travelling to Paris. It is beautiful, romantic, historic, and unforgettable. Although the shop has earned its reputation for over a century of quality marzipan production, today it didn’t live up to its high reviews.0https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/grass-cs/ACvplmMw_bsHAHUs3hVGV-ZFSDELR557nbczSmYW6-kGP6Eu1TX8nF2EzSQJhnnCg9ZDXy7wgkAMUtrwVkFYeIWDB0thLj8-0Qd3booh1EmBX4apxvUKwq2BTr_F8AS4LBaZWH0RZbnnpBCPM3w=k-nohttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/grass-cs/ACvplmNcUpY7mHbH5Nke2dE3ULygGjr96fcSPtDL4FIr5Wb7koRt3QSbSsg3z8BejdS6qxH6fgnkuvXGVuHjZJrzPfmHynsai7HWIj_fchQw-Qh_fteNBNPXfviHP5ixKFgKVqHCOXC_Awi_kmDV=k-no

With faster and better-organized service, Café Maiasmokk Kohvik could provide an experience that truly matches its historic reputation.0https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/grass-cs/ACvplmMf2qLVv7tNEQ8UlDaT4ujT5vB6ga7l4zsoMsTGBIR3Ra5Sj9RF-T3JmoPqo4Xz2xdo6IubCclcpZM2uEPD6cHfGnufPvNCPJunK7X10Y7khl9svtw1QB-OAgG47vjmsa4QXHm0lANPxf4H=k-nohttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/grass-cs/ACvplmOo_KCM70MikJS1pL0h6rXt69Clrx4Y9uzUVoKQT1rTveiAxu9ua1QJX4doN3sSuvejMk_thGV_igkMPS6l6gW-X6n-YviSbguKlBH8BbocA1gPLSmO2J3xwH25ejJARo8qBDkVBQTjI2E=k-no

It was already on our shortlist because of its history and reputation -- it's the oldest café in Tallinn (est. 1864). While the history certainly adds to its appeal, the reason we kept returning was the overall feel-good vibe. -> Maiasmokk has an old-world charm that feels genuine rather than curated for tourists. -> It's also surprisingly work-friendly. I was working remotely during part of the trip and the high window seating became my favourite spot. -> Comfortable seating, plenty of space, good coffee, natural light and a view of the street below made it easy to settle in for a few hours. It struck that rare balance of being quiet and cosy without ever feeling silent or intimidating. As someone who's perpetually cold, I quickly developed a habit of ordering the pumpkin soup. I'm also a sucker for a good coffee-and-dessert pairing, and Maiasmokk gave me plenty of reasons to linger. The caramel cake was gorgeous to look at and even better to eat. One of my favourite memories is sitting by the window, working, with a side of dessert, while occasionally looking across the street at the anti-Russia banners and protest messages, adding a layer of context. Over multiple visits we tried the cakes, chocolates, pastries, scrambled eggs, coffee, hot chocolate and more. The quality was consistently good. If you're looking for a café in Tallinn where you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, spend a few hours working, linger over coffee and cake, or simply watch the city go by, this is a wonderful choice. This cafe became part of the trip for us. I can't wait to go back :)0https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/grass-cs/ACvplmOeUZgq8alAkHmPDLiZ2xK4p7SbR-qT5FezhTkYVnNYSUmF62cDahPCR5ieSihj-SxFxP2tMaux58AtOOJK6uYAQlDfpvgUPrTKItzdp5XXhZLPAi07TNTYPPWp27Cn7N0vPMISiLdbxZEc=k-nohttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/grass-cs/ACvplmMQZis2fNE5aS1mUgh4pY00V0pfc2cflYYobymoq-uAQ32PkVJ0FTYubBq6l2RxIDDlEYXYh_Wb-RDl4SyYczB-3-xdpEzvfB0jhTpbWSIQHUqdY-3zGSbceDr62XwI5j_ECy6VgnvAEc8q=k-no

Restaurant reviews often carry separate food, service and atmosphere scores. Average each one across your reviews and compare with the cafe across the street.

03

Benchmark against nearby rivals

Pull 20 reviews for yourself and 5 competitors every week. That's about 26 calls a month for €0.04, and a sheet that shows who gets the better scores.

04

Spot odd review bursts

Group reviews by date. Five 5-star reviews on one day for a place that usually gets two a week is worth a closer look, for you or for a rival.

05

Collect quotes for your website

Filter to 5-star reviews that mention a dish or service by name. Ask the reviewer's permission, then use the quote on your menu page or ads.

06

Brief your staff

Print the 1-star and 2-star reviews with their wait time and service details for the Monday team meeting. Real words from real guests land better than a manager's opinion.
